Medical Gas Safety Training
Who is the course for:
The safe use and handling of medical gases, chiefly oxygen, nitrous oxide and nitrous oxide & oxygen (Entonox) used in medical applications.
The course covers the safety training requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act and BCGA Codes of Practice. Highlighting the specific hazards associated with these commonly used gases such as oxygen enrichment/deficiency, flammability, reactions with oils & greases, regulator changing etc.
Certification:
This training is nationally accredited by EAL & provides 3 CPD learning hours.

Classroom Session 2 hours
Interactive training on Medical Gases with topics including:
- Fire hazards of Oxygen enrichment
- Gas properties & hazards
- Identification & cylinder preparation
- Regulator fitting
- Leak testing
- Regulator removal
- Faulty cylinder procedure
- Manual handling techniques
- Connecting cylinders & manual handling
Practical Session allow approximately 1 hour
Learners will be given the opportunity to undertake:
- Before-use checks including leak checking
- Regulator fitting
- Manual handing of cylinders
