LPG Gases Safety for FLTs

This training course delivered at your location through a blend of classroom & practical training. Covering the safe use, handling & storage of propane gas used on forklift trucks.

Who is the course for:

Employees operating FLTs fuelled by LPG cylinders. This course aims to ensure operators have sufficient understanding of the gas to change the cylinders in a safe manner.

Certification:

This training is nationally accredited by EAL & provides 2.5 CPD learning hours.

Attendance gives staff information to understand the specific hazards associated with LPG cylinders used specifically to power FLT’s, resulting in an assured workforce and a safer workplace.

Classroom Session 1.5 hours

Interactive training on Compressed gases and equipment used in a laboratory environment with topics including:

  • Operator behaviours
  • Gas properties & hazards
  • Cylinder safety devices
  • Cylinders & fires
  • Emergency procedures
  • Manual handling
  • Cylinder storage & handling
  • Incidents & accidents
  • PPE

Practical Session allow approximately 1 hour

Learners will be given the opportunity to undertake:

  • Practical demonstration and operation for safe changing and connecting up of a LPG cylinder to a FLT
  • Safe refuelling of a Fork Lift Truck.
  • Manual handing of cylinders
